Aman Sehrawat lost his men’s 57kg freestyle wrestling semifinal to Japan’s Rei Higuchi with a decisive 10-0 score at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday. Higuchi, the top-seeded wrestler, secured the victory by technical superiority within the first three minutes of the match.

Despite this setback, Aman Sehrawat will have a chance to compete for a bronze medal. He will face Darian Toi Cruz of Puerto Rico in the bronze-medal match at Paris 2024 on Friday.
Earlier in the tournament, Aman demonstrated strong performances, winning his round of 16 bout against North Macedonia’s Vladimir Egorov with a commanding 10-0 score. He continued his impressive form in the quarterfinal, where he achieved a 12-0 technical superiority victory over Albania’s Zelimkhan Abakanov.
Aman’s path to the Paris Olympics was notable for his victory over Ravi Kumar Dahiya, who won a silver medal in the same weight class at the Tokyo Olympics. Aman defeated Dahiya at the national selection trials for the Olympic qualifiers, securing his spot for Paris 2024.
As he prepares for the bronze-medal match, Aman remains focused on adding to his achievements and bringing home a medal for India.
