Pramac CEO Paolo Campinoti has dismissed Marc Marquez’s apparent disinterest in joining Ducati’s official satellite MotoGP team in 2025. Stating that the issue lies with Marquez, not Pramac.

Currently leading the MotoGP standings with Jorge Martin, Pramac is poised to lose Martin to either the Ducati Lenovo team or a rival factory team. If Martin secures the official Ducati seat alongside Francesco Bagnaia. Marquez could theoretically move from Gresini to Pramac and still ride a factory-spec Desmosedici.

However, Marquez has ruled out this possibility, stating he has no interest in switching from one satellite Ducati team to another.

Campinoti, in an interview with SkySport.it, emphasized that Pramac is awaiting Ducati’s decision on their 2025 factory rider lineup and will adapt accordingly. When asked about Marquez’s comments, Campinoti said, “He’s the one who called himself out. Fortunately, we have the rider who is leading the world championship. Last year we came second in the last race and won the teams’ world championship. The problem is his, not ours.”

Marquez has mentioned having three options for next season: joining the official Ducati team. Staying with Gresini if he can secure a factory bike, or moving to KTM. Where both the Red Bull and Tech3 teams offer factory bikes.

Campinoti noted, “[Marquez] said he wanted to be in a winning team. I think we have proven that we are. The B and C options he has don’t seem to me to have won many world championships in recent years, so it’s his choice, not mine.”

Despite Yamaha also expressing interest in partnering with Pramac next season, Campinoti reiterated the team’s strong position in MotoGP. “I believe that the [Pramac] team has demonstrated in recent years… that it is a top team. The attention we are receiving from various manufacturers and from many riders who want to come with us is confirmation of this.”

He concluded by saying, “If someone doesn’t come willingly, it’s their problem, not ours. We’ve been without Marquez for 22 years, I think we can stay there again next year.”
