Jack Miller faces uncertainty about his future in MotoGP, especially after Honda’s decision to retain Joan Mir. Although Miller was not anticipated to secure a factory Honda seat, Mir’s renewed deal further narrows the opportunities available to the Australian rider.

Miller is set to leave KTM at the end of this season and currently has limited options left in MotoGP.

Pramac Yamaha and Trackhouse Racing

The most viable options for Miller are Pramac Yamaha and Trackhouse Racing.

  • Pramac Yamaha: Signing Miller would be a strategic move due to his extensive experience with three different manufacturers, a feat matched only by Maverick Viñales and Johann Zarco. Miller is a race winner with two brands and has demonstrated an ability to develop competitive bikes. However, Sky Italia reports that Miguel Oliveira is likely to join Pramac, leaving just one seat available, with several Moto2 riders also in contention. Pramac and Ducati’s focus on promoting young talent may limit Miller’s chances, especially if they opt for a mix of youth and experience, such as pairing a veteran with a rising star like Sergio Garcia.
  • Trackhouse Racing: This could be an attractive option for Miller, given the team’s competitive RS-GP bike, which suits his riding style. However, with Raul Fernandez remaining with the team and Ai Ogura heavily linked to a seat. This opportunity may also be slipping away.

Other Potential Seats

  • Gresini and VR46 Ducati: Officially, seats are still available, but Fermin Aldeguer is expected to join Gresini. While Franco Morbidelli is likely to team up with Fabio Di Giannantonio at VR46. This further reduces Miller’s options.

Potential Exit from MotoGP

Miller could face the prospect of being off the MotoGP grid entirely. With riders like Sergio Garcia and Joe Roberts potentially moving up from Moto2 in 2025, and LCR Honda likely to retain a Japanese rider, Miller’s future in the sport is uncertain.

Despite this, Miller remains optimistic about staying in MotoGP. He recently told Motosan.es, “My plan is yes, I would love to be one. I want to be here. I don’t see myself anywhere else but here. I feel like I’m still getting better at the end of the day. Plus, I’m only 29 years old. The problem is that I came to MotoGP when I was 19 years old. So people remember me from a long time ago, but I’m getting older.”

World Superbikes

If Miller does not secure a MotoGP seat, a switch to WorldSBK could be a possibility. Should Alvaro Bautista part ways with Ducati, Miller could find an opportunity on one of the most competitive bikes in the class.

Conclusion

Jack Miller’s future in MotoGP is uncertain, with limited options remaining. Pramac Yamaha and Trackhouse Racing are his most viable prospects, but both come with significant challenges. If MotoGP opportunities do not materialize, a move to World Superbikes could be on the horizon for the experienced Australian rider.
