Jorge Martin Sees Le Mans Victories as Season’s Turning Point

MotoGP championship leader Jorge Martin believes that his recent double victory at Le Mans could mark a significant turning point in the 2024 season.

Martin, riding for Pramac Ducati, expressed relief that the French round was the first event this year where he could ride naturally without encountering chatter issues (vibrations).

“The vibrations were troubling us in the earlier races, but finally, in France, I regained the sensations of last year,” Martin told SkySport.it. “Now that I understand the bike better and know where we can improve by focusing on details rather than problems, I believe this was the turning point of the season.”

Heading into the Catalunya MotoGP with a comfortable 38-point lead, Martin remains focused on enjoying each moment on the track rather than solely fixating on the championship victory.

“While winning the world championship is a possibility at the end of the year, I prefer to concentrate on having fun and performing well in each race,” he stated.

As speculation mounts regarding Martin’s future, with talks of a potential move to a factory team, Martin anticipates a decision within the next two races.

“I believe it’s the right time for me to aim for a factory team seat. Whether it’s in Barcelona or at Mugello, I’ll remain the same rider on the track,” Martin remarked.

Reflecting on his journey with the Pramac team, Martin expressed gratitude for the opportunity and support he received, emphasizing his desire to move forward and achieve his dream of joining the official Ducati team for the 2025 season.

“Winning the title would fulfill a lifelong dream for me and my family, and it would be historic to become MotoGP’s first satellite world champion,” Martin acknowledged. “I owe a lot to the Pramac team, but now I’m focused on the future and hopeful of joining the official Ducati team to pursue further success.”
