Andrea Dovizioso has offered an update on the motocross accident he recently endured, providing insights from his hospital bed.
The former MotoGP rider was airlifted to the hospital after a motocross crash on Tuesday, prompting concerns among fans and fellow riders alike.
Taking to social media, Dovizioso shared a message detailing his condition: “This time I really took a good hit! My collection of fractures is getting increasingly substantial, but the important thing is that the CT scan is negative.”
He continued, indicating that further tests were scheduled for the following day and expressing gratitude to his trainer. Yuri Naldini, and the medical staff for their support and assistance.
Dovizioso also thanked everyone who reached out with messages of support, assuring them that he would continue reading their well-wishes.
Despite suffering a broken collarbone and wrist damage, the negative CT scan brought immense relief. Dispelling initial concerns about potential head injuries.
The 38-year-old crashed at a private track in Arezzo before being transported to a hospital in Florence for treatment.
Dovizioso’s accolades include being officially recognized as a MotoGP Legend last year, a testament to his illustrious career that saw him clinch 15 grand prix victories and secure runner-up positions in the championship for three consecutive seasons from 2017 to 2019, narrowly missing out on the title to a dominant Marc Marquez during that time.
Well-wishes for Dovizioso’s speedy recovery poured in from notable figures in the MotoGP community, including Marquez and Valentino Rossi, underlining the respect and camaraderie shared among competitors in the sport.
