Following a disappointing weekend at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), emphasizes the importance of Cal Crutchlow’s upcoming test at Catalunya for Yamaha’s MotoGP development.
Rins, who struggled at COTA and finished 16th in the Sprint race before crashing out of the grand prix, acknowledges the significance of gathering crucial data to aid Yamaha’s improvement. Despite the setbacks, Rins remains optimistic about the project’s potential and believes Yamaha will bounce back.
Crucially, Yamaha plans to utilize Crutchlow’s upcoming test session to experiment with new setups and gather valuable insights. While Rins had hoped to join Crutchlow for the test, logistical constraints prevented him from doing so.
Although Yamaha’s immediate focus is on the upcoming test session, Rins will have to wait until the official Jerez MotoGP test, scheduled for April 29, to continue his testing efforts. Yamaha, benefitting from technical concessions, retains the flexibility to make significant changes to its MotoGP machine throughout the season.
Rins expresses confidence in Yamaha’s ability to address the challenges and looks forward to seeing improvements in the near future.
