Xiao Long made a thunderous impact at UFC Fight Night 248 with a stunning knockout victory over Quang Le.
In a bantamweight bout that saw both fighters exchange strikes for over two rounds, Xiao Long (27-8 MMA, 1-1 UFC) seized the opportunity in the third and final round. After a back-and-forth battle, he landed a clean 1-2 punch combination that sent Le (8-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) crashing to the canvas. Xiao Long quickly followed up with two decisive blows, and referee Mike Beltran stepped in to stop the fight at 1:28 of Round 3.
The victory marked Long’s first win in the UFC, showcasing his striking power and composure in the octagon. After the fight, an elated Long spoke about his ambitions in the bantamweight division.
“I’m so happy to fight in my homeland and be here in Macau,” Long said during his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “First of all, Dana [White], I want $50,000. I want $50,000. … I want to be in the top 15.”
The knockout earned Long a spot on the radar of the bantamweight division, as he eyes bigger challenges ahead.
