UFC 311, the first pay-per-view event of 2025, delivered an action-packed night at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The headliner saw lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defend his title against late replacement Renato Moicano in a thrilling encounter.
Originally, Makhachev was set to face Arman Tsarukyan in a highly anticipated rematch, but Tsarukyan was forced to withdraw just a day before the event. Moicano, who was initially scheduled to fight Beneil Dariush on the card, stepped up to take on the champion, with Dariush’s fight rescheduled for a later date.
Makhachev quickly showcased his dominance, submitting Moicano in the first round, solidifying his top spot in the pound-for-pound rankings.
The co-main event was equally dramatic, as bantamweight champion Merab Devalishvili handed undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov his first professional loss. In another high-stakes match, former light heavyweight titleholders Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill faced off, with Hill ultimately falling to the canvas.
