UFC revealed on Tuesday that Melsik Baghdasaryan and are both unable to compete in their respective matchups at UFC Vegas 86. In response, replacements have been arranged for their opponents.
Fernie Garcia will step in for the injured Baghdasaryan to face Hyder Amil in a featherweight bout. Garcia, who joined the UFC in 2022 following his appearance on Contender Series. Has faced challenges in the octagon, losing all three of his previous fights. Amil, another Contender Series alum, will make his UFC debut after securing a contract on the show last year.
Replacing Duraev in the middleweight division is Ihor Potieria, who will face Robert Bryczek. Potieria, also signed by the UFC in 2022 after an impressive Contender Series performance. Has struggled to find success in the promotion, with a record of 1-3, all losses coming by knockout. Bryczek, on the other hand, will make his UFC debut.
UFC Vegas 86, scheduled for this Saturday at the UFC Apex, will be headlined by a middleweight clash between Jack Hermansson and Joe Pyfer.
