In a groundbreaking move, the Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced the signing of 22-year-old Saudi Arabian-born fighter Hattan Alsaif. This historic signing makes Alsaif the first female athlete from Saudi Arabia to join a major MMA promotion.
Having yet to make her MMA debut, Alsaif is set to enter the professional scene with PFL. Anticipating her debut fight, the Muay Thai practitioner may potentially have it before the conclusion of 2024.

In expressing her excitement, Alsaif stated, “A dream come true for me is receiving a contract from the PFL. I won’t treat this responsibility lightly; my commitment is to give my best in representing my country. I hope this paves the way for more opportunities for aspiring female fighters.”
Alsaif boasts a successful career in Muay Thai, securing a gold medal at the 2023 International Federation of Muay Thai Associations World Championships in the under-45-kilograms category. She became the first Saudi Arabian athlete to achieve this feat. Alsaif also emerged victorious at the World Combat Games and the Saudi Games in the previous year.
Ray Sefo, PFL president of fighter operations, acknowledged Alsaif’s remarkable achievements, expressing confidence that she will inspire more talented female fighters in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
PFL’s next event is a high-profile pay-per-view, titled “PFL Champions vs. Bellator Champions,” scheduled for February 24 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
