Jake Paul, seeking to stay active after a delay in his scheduled bout with Mike Tyson, has expressed interest in entering the UFC octagon against Sean O’Malley, potentially rescuing the upcoming UFC 303 event.
Initially set to face Tyson on July 20, Paul’s bout was postponed due to Tyson’s medical issues, with the fight now rescheduled for November 15. Amid speculation that Paul might fight Mike Perry in July instead, UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has challenged Paul to step into the octagon for UFC 303.
In response, Paul tweeted, “MMA fight before Tyson ✅ 100% will kill O’Malley in MMA. He’s a small man. PFL Vs UFC June 29th.”
While a matchup with O’Malley seems unlikely due to contractual obligations with the PFL, Paul remains eager for an MMA debut under the right circumstances, possibly on a major PPV event, potentially in Saudi Arabia in September.
Reflecting on the delay with Tyson, Paul emphasized health as a priority, expressing relief that Tyson’s condition is improving and focusing on delivering a historic fight on the rescheduled date.
In a recent YouTube video, Paul acknowledged nervousness about facing Tyson in the ring but affirmed his commitment to a fair competition, dismissing any claims of rigging.
Despite challenges, including age disparities and logistical hurdles, Paul remains determined to pursue high-profile matches and continues to engage with potential opponents like O’Malley, underlining his ambition to expand his combat sports career.
