In a recent YouTube video, Henry Cejudo issued a challenge to former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno for a fight at UFC 306, scheduled to take place at Sphere in Las Vegas. Both fighters are currently on two-fight losing streaks and seeking a path back to title contention, making Cejudo’s proposal for a showdown with Moreno an enticing prospect.

Cejudo emphasized the potential for a grudge match between him and Moreno, citing their shared history and recent losses. Expressing his eagerness for the fight, Cejudo stated, “I will destroy Sean O’Malley. In the UFC.”
While Cejudo prefers the fight to take place at bantamweight, he is open to a flyweight bout if the conditions are right. He highlighted the significance of their past training together, which evolved into a strained relationship after Moreno supported Joseph Benavidez in their rivalry.
Despite their previous camaraderie, Cejudo and Moreno have been at odds since their collaboration with Benavidez’s camp. Cejudo recalled their failed attempt to arrange a fight in 2017, expressing his disappointment with Moreno’s reluctance.
Looking ahead, Cejudo sees the potential bout as a crucial opportunity for both fighters to bounce back from recent setbacks. With Cejudo’s losses to Aljamain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvili, and Moreno’s defeats against Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Royval, a matchup between them could prove pivotal in their careers.
Cejudo believes that both he and Moreno have struggled in their recent performances and sees their potential fight as a chance to test each other’s abilities and regain momentum.
As speculation mounts about a potential clash between Cejudo and Moreno, fans await further developments regarding the UFC 306 card and the possibility of this highly anticipated matchup.
