In a significant move following fighters’ calls for higher performance bonuses, UFC CEO Dana White announced a substantial increase ahead of UFC 300. The decision came during the pre fight news conference at T-Mobile Arena, where Dana White responded to questions raised by MMA Junkie reporter Mike Bohn regarding the potential boost in bonuses.
The proposal garnered immediate attention from several fighters present on stage, who pushed for Dana White to consider the adjustment. With out hesitation, Dana White confirmed the increase, stating, “300, it’s done.”
This adjustment signifies a monumental shift in the UFC’s approach to performance bonuses, making UFC 300 the event with the largest official bonuses in the promotion’s history. Dana While the standard performance bonuses have traditionally stood at $50,000, this decision elevates the stakes significantly.
Historically, the UFC has occasionally deviated from the standard bonus amount, offering $100,000 bonuses at UFC 100 in 2009 and $129,000 bonuses at UFC 129 in 2011. More recently, at UFC 262 in 2021, the promotion provided $75,000 bonuses.
With this latest decision, fighters competing at UFC 300 stand to benefit from a substantial increase in bonus earnings, reflecting the promotion’s commitment to recognizing exceptional performances with in the octagon.
