In an intense show down at Mexico City Arena, Brandon Royval emerged victorious in the main event of UFC Fight Night 237, albeit not the Brandon the local fans had anticipated.
(16-7 MMA, 8-3 UFC) claimed a hard fought split decision victory over former fly weight champion Brandon Moreno (21-8-2 MMA, 9-5-2 UFC) after five rounds of thrilling action (48-47, 46-49, 48-47).

Despite facing adversity due to a bother some left knee, Royval show cased remarkable aggression and boxing skills throughout the bout. While Moreno displayed strength early on, Royval’s resilience and increasing success rate turned the tide in his favor as the fight progressed.
As the contest entered the final round, both fighters were reminded of the urgency by their respective corners. The closing minutes witnessed a flurry of exchanges as Royval and Moreno vigorously traded blows in a bid to sway the judges’ decision.
The victory marked Royval’s redemption after his previous encounter with Moreno ended abruptly due to a shoulder injury in November 2020.
