Neeraj Goyat showcased his boxing prowess with a commanding performance over Whindersson Nunes in a super-middleweight bout on the undercard of the highly anticipated Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event, held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday.
The Indian boxer, who made history as the first from his country to enter the WBC rankings, emerged victorious by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the fight 60-54 in his favor. The six-round, non-title bout was a one-sided affair, as Goyat dominated his opponent from start to finish.
At 33 years old, Goyat, known for his aggressive style, improved his record to four wins in his last five matches. His most recent victory came in the form of a second-round Technical Knockout (TKO) over Phakorn Aiemyod in 2023.
On the other hand, Nunes, who has only participated in exhibition matches, was making his professional boxing debut after a previous loss to Nathan Bartling in a Misfits Boxing event. Despite his best efforts, the Brazilian was unable to mount any serious challenge against the seasoned Goyat.
Goyat’s dominant victory was the final fight on a packed undercard ahead of the main event between Tyson and Paul, which captivated fans worldwide.
