McLaren Unveils Unique One-Off Livery for 2024 Japanese Grand Prix

McLaren is set to debut a special one-off livery for the upcoming Suzuka event at the Japanese Grand Prix, featuring artwork created by Japanese artist MILTZ, adorning the team’s MCL38 cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Part of McLaren’s Driven by Change campaign, in collaboration with partner British American Tobacco and its Vuse e-cigarette brand, the livery alteration aims to celebrate emerging creatives on a global motorsport platform.

Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer at McLaren Racing, expressed excitement about bringing the Driven by Change campaign to Japan. Highlighting its success in showcasing the creativity of talented artists worldwide on McLaren’s race cars.

The designer behind the artwork, MILTZ, shared his enthusiasm. He stated that this international project with McLaren is a significant milestone in his career. Additionally, he aims to blend the rich traditions of Japanese writing culture with a modern twist, telling captivating stories through art.

Returning to Suzuka, where McLaren secured its first double podium of the 2023 season. The team hopes to continue its strong performance. Moreover, currently positioned as the third team behind Red Bull and Ferrari. McLaren heads to Suzuka with a slight advantage over Mercedes.

Known for its innovative approach to livery designs, McLaren has previously introduced various one-off liveries. Including a chrome livery at Silverstone and tributes to its Triple Crown-winning heritage at Monaco and Barcelona in 2023. Additionally, special designs were unveiled for races in Abu Dhabi, Las Vegas, Singapore, and Japan. Showcasing McLaren’s commitment to artistic expression and creativity on the race track.
