Verstappen is determined to rebound from recent setbacks by ramping up his preparations ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, despite not securing victory in the last two races.

While the reigning world champion continues to lead the drivers’ standings comfortably, McLaren and Mercedes have significantly closed the gap on Red Bull Racing. Verstappen’s performance at Silverstone, where he failed to qualify in the top three but finished second, highlighted the increased competition.

“Hungary is an interesting track, and we’re looking forward to racing there,” Verstappen said. “The circuit is narrow and technical, with a challenging second sector. We’re also expecting warmer conditions this week.”

Reflecting on the challenges faced at Silverstone, Verstappen acknowledged the need for further improvements as the season progresses. “Despite making all the right calls, we need to refine our performance heading into the second half of the season.”

To enhance his chances at the Hungaroring, Verstappen has been working intensively in Red Bull’s simulator at their Milton Keynes factory. “I’ve spent time at the factory preparing for the race, and we’ve also celebrated Red Bull’s 20th anniversary at Goodwood. Last year’s race in Hungary was fantastic, and we hope to replicate that success.”

Teammate Sergio Pérez is facing pressure following a string of disappointing results after a strong start to the season. Pérez, who enjoyed four podium finishes in the first five races, has been struggling to regain his form.

“It’s been beneficial to step away from the racetrack after the British GP,” Pérez noted. “Spending time with family and focusing on training has been important. We’ve also been working hard at the factory, on the simulator, and analyzing how to improve our current form.”

Pérez also highlighted the significance of Red Bull Racing’s achievements and unity, reflected in events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed. “Seeing our history and accomplishments reminds us of how much we’ve achieved and how much more we aim to accomplish.”
