Former Ferrari F1 Boss Binotto Takes Helm of New E-Powertrain Project

While rumors circulated about Mattia Binotto considering opportunities within F1, such as positions with Alpine and Audi, he has now transitioned to a new role in the automotive sector.

The new managing director of Italian company TEXA is Binotto, which stands for Electronic Technologies for Automotive. Established in 1992, TEXA is renowned as a global leader in vehicle diagnostic tools and related technologies.

In addition to diagnostic tools, TEXA also specializes in exhaust gas analyzers, air conditioning maintenance stations, and remote diagnosis devices for a wide range of vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, trucks, agricultural and construction vehicles, as well as boats.

In his new capacity, Binotto will oversee the strategic direction of TEXA’s ambitious E-Powertrain division, which focuses on developing and supplying advanced automotive components for electric vehicles, particularly high-performance sports cars.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Binotto stated, “Beyond the competitive experience that I have always had in my life, what attracted me to TEXA was the strategic audacity of its project to build Italian excellence characterized by the most advanced technologies in new mobility.”

Binotto continued, “TEXA intends to establish itself as the reference technological standard on a global level. Thanks to the mobilization of significant investment resources and the recruitment of top talent, we aim to preserve, renew, and relaunch Italy’s formidable motoring culture.”

TEXA founder Bruno Vianello expressed his satisfaction with Binotto’s appointment, emphasizing the value of Binotto’s extensive experience in Formula 1 and his contribution to TEXA’s e-Powertrain division.

Vianello stated, “Together with the rest of the e-Powertrain division team, made up of young and enthusiastic engineers, we are aiming for intense development that will lead us to achieve important and significant results in the most valuable segment of the automotive market in just a few years.”

He concluded, “This is a niche in which large international groups have already entered. The competition and comparison with them will certainly be stimulating.”
