Aston Martin confirms the debut date for its AMR24 Formula 1 car launch.

Aston Martin has officially revealed that the launch date for its 2024 Formula 1 car, the AMR24, is scheduled for February 12 at Silverstone. The team initially announced it through an email sent to members of the I / AM fan campaign. This email also invited fans to join a competition for attending the car’s unveiling.

Aston Martin becomes the fourth Formula 1 team to disclose its 2024 launch date, following Sauber and Williams, both set for February 5, and Ferrari, which will unveil its car on February 13.

Fernando Alonso, the two-time F1 world champion with Aston Martin, has outlined areas for improvement in the upcoming season. He emphasized the need for the team to address issues related to consistency and straightline speed. Alonso pointed out the challenge of operating the car within a narrow performance window, particularly in the context of ground-effect cars. Additionally, he highlighted the team’s struggle with straightline speed and the trade-off between reducing rear wing drag for faster straights and compromising cornering performance.

Despite these challenges, Alonso commended the team for effective tyre management and strategic decisions during the 2023 season. Aston Martin started the season strongly, emerging as a significant contender to Red Bull, but faced setbacks, including the removal of an overly flexible front wing and adjustments for 2024 parts that impacted performance.

Sauber, now named Stake F1 Team, will also launch its C44 in London, marking a departure from its previous unveilings in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. The name change reflects a placeholder commercial deal until Audi’s full entry into Formula 1 in 2026.
