The Racing Point to Aston Martin transformation has been substantial since Stroll acquired the assets of the former Force India team, rebranding it before it became Aston Martin in 2021.
With significant investment, including the construction of a new factory, the team has emerged as podium contenders. Yet, it still harbors aspirations of contending for championship titles.
Recent reports suggest that Stroll is actively pursuing Adrian Newey, hoping to lure him away from Red Bull to bolster Aston Martin’s technical prowess.
Alonso, who recently committed to a multi-year deal with Aston Martin, acknowledges the team’s unique ambition and future plans, which he believes surpass those of any other team in the paddock.

“There is no other team in the paddock with the ambition and the plans for the future that Aston has,” he said. “But at the same time, you need to achieve those goals and you need to deliver those results.”
Alonso notes the remarkable growth of the team in recent years, both in terms of personnel and infrastructure. Despite facing stiff competition this season from teams like Ferrari and McLaren, he remains optimistic about Aston Martin’s trajectory.
“I’m very happy,” he said. “I think I was happy last year, and I am still happy now. And I feel good with the team.”
While results haven’t been as strong at the start of this season compared to last year, Alonso sees positive signs in the team’s development roadmap and remains committed to their journey towards competitiveness at the highest level.
