Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has responded to a petition initiated by fans urging the club to reconsider his departure and retain him beyond the current season.
Tuchel had previously announced that the ongoing campaign would mark his final one at the Allianz Arena, as the club hierarchy decided to part ways with him back in February. Despite Bayern’s diminished dominance in the Bundesliga, Tuchel remains focused on their Champions League campaign after being ousted from the German Cup by lower-league opposition.
Amid speculation about potential successors, including former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick, some Bayern supporters have rallied behind Tuchel, gathering over 12,000 signatures in a petition advocating for his retention.
Addressing the petition during a pre-match press conference ahead of Bayern’s Bundesliga fixture against Frankfurt. Tuchel acknowledged the fans’ sentiment but emphasized that his focus remains solely on football matters in the coming days.

“While it’s heartening to receive such support from the fans, my priority at present is football,” Tuchel stated. “In the next 11 days, my focus is solely on our upcoming matches. Regardless of the circumstances, I won’t allow external factors to sway my attention.”
The petition underscores Tuchel’s contributions and challenges during his tenure, highlighting his ability to navigate through adversities. Including an injury-ridden squad, to notable achievements such as reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
Despite the fans’ plea and the defense of his managerial prowess. Tuchel remains steadfast in his commitment to Bayern Munich until the conclusion of the season. Emphasizing that his attention remains firmly on the footballing aspect of the club.
