Following Aaron Ramsdale’s individual mistake in Arsenal’s clash with Brentford, William Saliba reveals the team’s determined response and eventual triumph.
Despite Ramsdale’s error leading to Brentford’s equalizer, Arsenal rallied in the second half with a clear objective to secure victory. Kai Havertz’s late goal secured the win, propelling Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table, pending the result of Liverpool’s match against Manchester City.
Saliba acknowledges that mistakes happen in football, referencing his own recent errors. However, he emphasizes the team’s resilience in supporting each other and ensuring that blunders do not derail their efforts.
“We said we have to come out in the second half to win. Everyone has made mistakes, in the last month I made two mistakes and my team saved me… so second half is the reverse, because they had three good chances and he saved us, so that’s a good mentality from the team,” Saliba told beIN Sports.
Despite Ramsdale’s limited outings this season, he redeemed himself with crucial saves in the second half, echoing Saliba’s sentiments about collective responsibility and support within the team.

Kai Havertz echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that errors are part of the game and crediting Ramsdale for his character and determination.
Manager Mikel Arteta praised Ramsdale’s response, highlighting his courage and character in bouncing back from the mistake and helping secure the win for Arsenal.
Ramsdale’s performance, coupled with the team’s collective effort and resilience, exemplifies Arsenal’s determination to overcome setbacks and pursue success.
