Mohamed Salah has revealed that he is uncertain about his future at Liverpool, as the club has yet to offer him a new contract despite his stellar form this season. The news will likely be concerning for Reds fans, who have continued to support the Egyptian forward, especially after his match-winning performance in Liverpool’s 3-2 comeback victory at Southampton on Sunday. Salah scored twice, extending his team’s lead at the top of the Premier League, and taking his tally to 10 goals and six assists from just 12 league appearances this season.
However, despite his impressive performances, Salah’s contract situation remains unresolved. The 32-year-old expressed his frustration after the match, revealing that, as of December, he has not received any offers from the club regarding an extension. “I’m probably more out than in,” Salah told the media, reflecting the lack of communication about his future. “I’ve been at the club for many years, and there is no club like this. But in the end, it’s not in my hands. It’s December, and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.”
When asked if he was disappointed by the lack of contract discussions, Salah confirmed his feelings, saying: “Of course, yeah. I love the fans, and the fans love me. In the end, it’s not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.” Despite the uncertainty, Salah emphasized that he remains focused on the present, stating, “I’m not going to retire soon, so I’m just playing, focusing on the season, and trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well.”

Salah’s comments come after he previously mentioned in September that no one at the club had spoken to him about a new contract, leading him to assume he might be playing his “last season” at Liverpool.
The situation surrounding Salah’s future is part of a broader discussion about the contracts of key Liverpool players, with defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk also out of contract next summer. Liverpool manager Arne Slot had commented on the contract situations of these players in early November, noting ongoing discussions but refraining from sharing details with the public. Slot explained, “Contract situations are discussed by the people who should talk about them. I speak with Richard Hughes, and that’s the place where we have to talk about it, not in front of a microphone.”
As Salah continues to shine on the pitch, the uncertainty surrounding his future at Liverpool remains a key storyline. Fans will be hoping that the club and the player can reach an agreement to keep the Egyptian star at Anfield for the foreseeable future.
