Punjab FC has unveiled its 16-member squad for the Premier League Next Gen Cup 2024, set to take place from August 1 to August 4 in England. This prestigious tournament, organized by the Premier League, will feature teams from eight academies, including prominent English clubs such as Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Everton, as well as South Africa’s Stellenbosch FC.
Aston Villa’s Bodymoor Training Ground will host the matches, with the finals scheduled to take place at Loughborough University Stadium. Representing India in this competitive event are Punjab FC, East Bengal FC, and Muthoot Football Academy, marking their entry into the fifth edition of the tournament.
Punjab FC’s squad, led by Head Coach Sankarlal Chakraborty, boasts a mix of emerging talent and experienced players. Notably, the lineup includes seven players from their senior team, who secured victory in the RFDL National Championships and earned their spot in the Next Gen Cup.
This participation underscores Punjab FC’s growing prominence in Indian football and highlights the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent through international exposure.
