The Premier League may find itself in another contentious situation with Nottingham Forest. As Notts County supporter David Coote is slated to referee the upcoming match against relegation rivals Luton.
Forest recently expressed frustration over what they perceived as unjust officiating during their loss to Everton. Particularly questioning the role of Stuart Attwell, a Luton fan, in the VAR decision-making process.
The club’s dissatisfaction prompted investigations by both the Premier League and the FA. And they have also requested access to the VAR audio from the Everton match.
Now, with Coote, a known Notts County fan, set to officiate the Luton-Wolves fixture. Forest’s concerns regarding referee appointments are likely to intensify, especially considering the tight relegation battle.

Coote’s potential influence on the outcome of the match could be significant, as Luton currently sit in the relegation zone. Just one point behind Forest with only four games left in the season.
Meanwhile, Forest have also been informed of the referee for their upcoming game against Manchester City, with Simon Hooper taking charge. Forest previously felt aggrieved during their match against Tottenham, believing James Maddison should have been sent off. Which ultimately impacted their subsequent performances.
Forest’s dissatisfaction with refereeing decisions has been made clear through their public statements, and they have indicated their intention to explore further action if necessary.
In response to Forest’s complaints, various individuals associated with the club, including players and coaching staff, have been asked to provide their observations on the matter.
