Peter Crouch provided a humorous assessment of Jurgen Klopp’s impact at Liverpool, joking that the true measure of success is the club no longer signing players “like him.”
Klopp is set to depart Anfield after an illustrious eight-year tenure, during which he secured the club’s first Premier League title, won the Champions League, and amassed numerous other accolades.
In a light-hearted moment on TNT Sports, Crouch quipped, “He’s just transformed the football club. From a place where the Premier League was miles away… like me playing for the club, that’s how bad it was!”
Crouch’s remark left fellow pundit Ally McCoist and presenter Lynsey Hipgrave in stitches.

“He’s completely transformed it,” Crouch continued. “Won absolutely everything. But he’s put smiles on people’s faces, he’s charismatic, the football’s exciting, an absolute legend at the football club. And that’s a football club with a lot of legends.”
McCoist chimed in, further emphasizing Klopp’s status among Liverpool’s iconic figures and his immediate connection with the club and its supporters.
Responding to claims that Klopp underachieved at Liverpool by winning only one Premier League title. Crouch was resolute in his defense of the manager.
“No. You’ve got to remember where the club was. They got so close under Brendan Rodgers and then it was a complete rebuild,” Crouch explained. “He’s done so much for the football club. When he does leave, there won’t be a dry eye in the house.”
