Mumbai City FC cemented their place at the top of the ISL 2023-24 table with a convincing 3-0 victory over Hyderabad FC at the Gachibowli Stadium. This dominant win propelled the Islanders to a commanding lead, boasting 44 points from 20 games and establishing a five-point advantage over their closest competitor, the Mohun Bagan Super Giant.

Despite Hyderabad FC’s recent win that boosted their morale, Mumbai City FC’s firepower on the offensive proved to be an insurmountable challenge. Vikram Partap Singh, the current leader in the ISL’s golden boot race, showcased his versatility by not only scoring a penalty in the closing minutes but also masterfully setting up the opening goal for Lallianzuala Chhangte in the 16th minute.
Jorge Pereyra Diaz, another attacking force for Mumbai City FC, kept the pressure on the Hyderabad FC defense throughout the match. The team’s strong center-back pairing also got on the scoresheet, with Mehtab Singh heading in a perfectly placed cross from Thaer Krouma to secure a comfortable lead before halftime.
Vikram continued to be a menace for the Hyderabad defense throughout the entire match. His persistence earned Mumbai City FC a penalty in the dying minutes, which Diaz calmly converted to put the game out of reach and seal a resounding victory. This result further emphasizes Mumbai City FC’s unwavering determination and strength as they confidently march towards claiming the coveted ISL title.
