Sarina Wiegman has named her squad for England’s Euro 2025 qualifiers against France, the Republic of Ireland, and Sweden, featuring the return of Millie Bright and the debut of Aggie Beever-Jones from Chelsea.
The 24-player squad, selected for the June and July camps, will see action in back-to-back games against France in June and matches against the Republic of Ireland and Sweden in July. With the Women’s Super League in its offseason, Wiegman aimed for clarity and preparation, naming squads for both windows.
Wiegman emphasized the balance between performance and player welfare, expressing gratitude for the cooperation of clubs in ensuring the readiness of the players for international duty.
The squad includes four standby players, including goalkeeper Kayla Rendell from Southampton, Missy Bo Kearns from Liverpool, Jess Naz from Tottenham, and Maya Le Tissier from Manchester United.
Bright’s return to the squad marks her first inclusion this year, following her recent appearances for Chelsea post-injury. Additionally, Beever-Jones earns her spot after an impressive season with Chelsea, ranking second in league goals behind Lauren James and fourth in the WSL’s top scorers list.
The Lionesses will face France in Newcastle on May 31st and again in Saint-Étienne on June 4th. Training camps are scheduled for June 19-21 and June 24-28, leading up to the final Euro qualifying group stage fixtures against Ireland in Norwich on July 12th and Sweden in Gothenburg on July 16th.
Before these fixtures, the team will travel to the Netherlands for a training camp from July 1st to July 5th, including a behind-closed-doors training game against the Netherlands.
