Micah Richards found himself in an embarrassing situation after his predictions for the Champions League quarter-finals turned out to be entirely wrong.
During his appearance on American broadcaster CBS’ coverage, Richards was asked to forecast the teams that would advance to the semi-finals before the first-leg matches. However, none of his picks ended up being successful, leaving him with a string of incorrect predictions.
Using a big screen, Richards confidently named the teams he believed would progress: Arsenal, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona. Unfortunately for him, none of these sides emerged victorious in their respective ties.
Atletico Madrid lost their second leg 4-2 against Dortmund, resulting in Dortmund’s advancement with a 5-4 aggregate win. Barcelona suffered a collapse at home to PSG, conceding six goals on aggregate after a red card for Ronald Araujo.

On Wednesday, neither of the Premier League sides Richards backed made it through. Arsenal fell to Bayern Munich 1-0 in the second leg, losing 3-2 on aggregate, while Manchester City was defeated by Real Madrid on penalties.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, expressed his disappointment with the outcome, highlighting the fine margins that contributed to their loss. Pep Guardiola, City’s manager, commended Real Madrid’s defensive performance but asserted that his team had done everything possible to win.
Richards’ inaccurate predictions left him with some egg on his face, as none of the outcomes matched his forecasts.
