Reports suggest that Manchester United players are secretly in favor of Mason Greenwood returning to the club, following a poll conducted among squad members.
Greenwood, the United forward, was suspended by the club in January 2022 due to allegations made against him, which included one count of attempted rape, a count of assault, and accusations of engaging in controlling and coercive behavior. However, all charges against Greenwood were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023.
Despite this, United indicated that Greenwood would be permitted to continue his career elsewhere after an internal investigation. Consequently, he has spent the current season on loan at Getafe, with speculation about a permanent move swirling.

Recently, comments made by United minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe regarding Greenwood’s future at Old Trafford have raised questions about the possibility of his return to the club. Ratcliffe emphasized the need for a careful and values-based decision-making process regarding Greenwood’s status as a Manchester United footballer.
Amidst these discussions, a report from The Sun suggests that members of United’s squad would be open to Greenwood’s return. According to a source cited by the publication. The players acknowledge that Greenwood’s comeback would be contentious but view their support as a footballing decision.
Currently on loan at Getafe, Green-wood has tallied eight goals and five assists across all competitions this season. With 35 goals in 129 appearances for United, the 22-year-old’s potential return could add depth and talent to the squad. Although it remains a subject of debate and deliberation within the club.
