Jadon Sancho Ends Goal Drought for Borussia Dortmund After Personal Request

Jadon Sancho broke his scoring silence since rejoining Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, finding the back of the net against Werder Bremen.

Sancho’s goal proved decisive as Dortmund secured a 2-1 victory away from home, despite being reduced to ten men after Marcel Sabitzer’s first half red card.

Having risen to prominence at Dortmund before his move to Manchester United, Sancho struggled to replicate his form at Old Trafford and found himself sidelined after disagreements with Erik ten Hag.

Upon returning to Germany, Sancho aimed to reignite his spark but faced scrutiny for his performances. However, Dortmund coach Edin Terzic expressed confidence in the forward’s abilities.

Terzic emphasized that Sancho had expressed a desire to play in a central No. 10 role, although stiff competition posed a challenge. Despite this, Terzic acknowledged the talent of Julian Brandt and Marco Reus in that position.

Terzic has urged patience and understanding as Sancho works to regain rhythm, citing his lack of consistent game time as a contributing factor to his dip in form.

During his initial tenure at Dortmund, Sancho showcased prolific form, registering numerous assists and scoring 36 goals. However, since his return, he has struggled to replicate this success, finding the net only 13 times in almost three years.
