Maurizio Sarri has emerged as a potential candidate for Roma’s managerial position following the recent dismissal of Ivan Juric. The renowned Italian coach, who is currently with Lazio, has reportedly expressed a willingness to make the move across Rome, with sources close to him suggesting that he would join Roma “in a heartbeat.”
Sky Sport’s Angelo Mangiante revealed this on Radio Manà Manà Sport. According to Mangiante, Maurizio Sarri’s entourage has indicated that he would be eager to take on the challenge of managing Roma, despite his ongoing association with Lazio, a club that holds a deep rivalry with the Giallorossi.
While the club has added Maurizio Sarri’s name to the list of possible replacements, Roma is still exploring other options. FC Barcelona is considering former manager Vincenzo Montella, although recent reports from the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) have denied any ongoing talks between Roma and Montella, who is currently not managing a club.
The managerial search comes after Roma’s disappointing start to the season under Juric, leading to his dismissal. With a pivotal decision ahead, Roma’s leadership is weighing their options carefully as they look for a new coach to guide them back to form in Serie A.
