Manchester United are bracing for the potential departure of Alejandro Garnacho, with Napoli reportedly returning with an improved bid for the Argentine winger. The Serie A leaders are eyeing Garnacho as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and are now prepared to offer up to €60 million, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Red Devils, however, are holding firm on a valuation closer to €70 million. The clubs will resume talks shortly, with reports suggesting the deal is gaining momentum. The clubs share a positive relationship, highlighted by Napoli’s earlier acquisition of Scott McTominay, who has flourished in Italy. The Scotland international continued his strong form with a goal in Napoli’s thrilling 3-2 win over Atalanta on Saturday.
United Eye Patrick Dorgu as Garnacho Replacement

As negotiations with Napoli progress, Manchester United are already preparing for Garnacho’s potential exit. The club has initiated talks with Lecce over a deal for Danish left-back Patrick Dorgu. The 20-year-old, valued at €17 million, has impressed with his performances in Serie A, making him a prime candidate to bolster United’s squad.
David Ornstein of The Athletic confirmed the ongoing discussions, stating:
“Man Utd are in talks with Lecce over a potential deal for left-back Patrick Dorgu. No agreement yet, but dialogue is progressing.”
Dorgu’s versatility as a left wing-back makes him an appealing option, addressing a position United are actively looking to strengthen. The player had previously attracted interest from Chelsea and Napoli, but United appear to be leading the race for his signature.
Alternate Targets Considered

While Wolves’ Rayan Aït-Nouri has also emerged as an option for United, his €50 million price tag makes a January deal unlikely. Dorgu, in contrast, offers a more economical and promising solution.
Napoli’s interest in Garnacho could indirectly aid United’s pursuit of Dorgu. Italian sources suggest that Napoli, initially keen on Dorgu, may step aside to facilitate United’s move if it secures them the Argentine winger.
Garnacho’s Rising Star
The 20-year-old Garnacho has become a hot commodity in the transfer market, thanks to his growing influence at United and eight caps for Argentina. If Napoli successfully acquire him, it would mark another significant addition to Antonio Conte’s squad as they aim to maintain their stronghold at the top of Serie A.
With negotiations heating up and replacements lined up, the coming days will be crucial for both Manchester United and Napoli as they finalize decisions that could shape their squads for the remainder of the season.
