Injury Setback for Haaland: Man City Star Out for Several Weeks

Manchester City forward Erling Haaland faces weeks on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury during the FA Cup quarterfinal win against Bournemouth. The Norwegian striker had just netted his 30th goal of the season when he was injured in a challenge by Lewis Cook.

Injury Setback for Haaland: Man City Star Out for Several WeeksCity confirmed that Haaland underwent initial scans on Monday, and he will now consult a specialist to assess the severity of the injury. While the club has not provided a specific recovery timeline, they expect him to return before the season ends.

Haaland’s absence is a major blow for City, who are in a tight race to secure Champions League qualification. They currently sit fifth in the Premier League, outside the top four spots, with nine games remaining. Additionally, they have an FA Cup semifinal against Nottingham Forest at Wembley on April 26.

City released a statement addressing Haaland’s injury, saying, “Erling underwent initial tests in Manchester on Monday morning and will now seek specialist consultation to confirm the full extent of the injury.” The club remains hopeful that he will recover in time to contribute later this season, including the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

Losing Haaland at this stage could impact City’s push for silverware. His goal-scoring ability has been crucial, and manager Pep Guardiola will now need to rely on other attacking options to fill the void. The club and fans will closely monitor his recovery as City aims to finish the season strongly.
