Julian Nagelsmann, who took over after Hansi Flick’s dismissal in September 2023, had a mixed start with Germany, securing a win and a draw during a U.S. trip in October but suffering two consecutive losses in Austria and against Turkey in November.

Ahead of the European Championships, Germany announced two friendly matches against Ukraine and Greece in June, just days before the tournament begins. The team will face Ukraine in Nuremberg on June 3 and Greece in Moenchengladbach four days later. Euro 2024 kicks off on June 14, with Germany playing their first Group A match against Scotland.
“We need to prepare for various styles and systems of opponents before Euro 2024,” said coach Julian Nagelsmann. “Ukraine and Greece are two passionate teams, and we’ve faced difficulties against such opponents recently.”
With less than 100 days until the Euros, there’s mounting pressure on Nagelsmann and his team to perform. “That’s why these matches against France and the Netherlands (in March) are crucial tests,” Nagelsmann added.
Germany will visit France on March 23 and host the Netherlands three days later for their upcoming friendly matches.
