Manchester United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, is reportedly keen on acquiring Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the highly-rated Georgian winger who was a summer target for Paris Saint-Germain. Despite PSG’s strong interest, a transfer did not materialize as Napoli held firm, refusing to let go of the player.
Kvaratskhelia played a pivotal role in Napoli’s successful Serie A title campaign during the 2023-24 season, making 45 appearances and contributing 11 goals along with nine assists. His impactful performances have only heightened interest in his services, yet he has yet to secure a new contract with the club. Currently, Kvaratskhelia’s deal runs through 2027, and while Napoli is eager to extend it, negotiations have stalled due to salary disagreements. The player’s representatives are seeking €8 million per season, whereas Napoli is offering €6 million plus performance-related bonuses.
Additionally, Kvaratskhelia is reportedly looking for a €80 million release clause in any new contract, a condition that Napoli is hesitant to accept. With the club valuing the 23-year-old at around €100 million for any potential transfer, the situation remains complex.

As reported by CaughtOffside, Amorim views Kvaratskhelia as a “special talent” who has the potential to “light up Old Trafford.” The manager is particularly interested in bringing the winger to Manchester United as a replacement for Antony, who has faced challenges in his performances since joining the club.
While discussions between Kvaratskhelia and Napoli about a contract extension are ongoing, progress appears stalled. This situation may present an opportunity for Manchester United to make a move for the dynamic forward, who has become one of the most sought-after players in Europe following his impressive displays in Italy. As the transfer landscape evolves, all eyes will be on how this scenario unfolds in the coming months.
