Former Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has revealed that the early work of new Liverpool manager Arne Slot has notably impressed Mohamed Salah.
Slot, who took over from Jurgen Klopp this summer, has begun his tenure with a focus on the players not on international duty. As the Premier League season approaches, the majority of first-team players, including Salah, are back in training.
Adrian, who left Liverpool earlier this summer, shared insights from his conversations with current squad members. He told The Athletic, “I speak almost every day with many of the squad — Kostas Tsimikas, Mo Salah. They’ve told me they like it; Slot’s approach aligns with what we had under Jurgen — intense, direct, fast-paced play, high pressing, and bravery. That suits Liverpool’s squad, so the new coach is adapting well.”

Salah’s positive reaction to Slot’s methods could be significant for Liverpool fans, given the ongoing uncertainty over the Egyptian forward’s future. Salah, who has entered the final year of his contract, has been linked with interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, including a rejected £150million bid from Al-Ittihad last summer.
Liverpool are keen to extend Salah’s stay beyond 2025 and are working to secure new deals for Salah, club captain Virgil van Dijk, and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts also expire at the end of the season. Despite the contract situation, Liverpool have made it clear they do not wish to sell Salah this summer.
