Manchester United are reportedly set to keep hold of young talents Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, despite ongoing concerns regarding their Player Sales Revenue (PSR) and Financial Fair Play (FFP) compliance. Sources close to the club suggest that both players hold significant value to the squad, and United is not actively looking to sell them.
Mainoo, 19, has expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him by the club. United have shown a commitment to his future, with discussions underway about a new contract. Former manager Erik ten Hag revealed in September that talks would take place with the club’s leadership regarding a contract extension for the England international. Mainoo’s current deal runs through 2027, with an additional year option and performance-based pay increases.
The club’s recruitment strategy this summer focused on strengthening the midfield, with the signing of Manuel Ugarte designed to complement Mainoo’s style. Early indications show a developing partnership between the two players, which could play a key role in United’s plans moving forward.
Meanwhile, Garnacho, who is under contract until 2028, remains an integral part of United’s future ambitions.
