If you have a spare £5 million lying around, you could be the proud owner of Cristiano Ronaldo’s former residence in Manchester.
It has been nearly two years since the legendary Manchester United forward parted ways with the club after a tumultuous second stint, which ended following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. In that interview, he criticized manager Erik ten Hag and claimed he felt “betrayed” by the club.
Since then, Ronaldo has been trying to sell his luxurious property located in the exclusive footballers’ enclave of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, just south of Manchester. Initially listed for £5.5 million in early 2023, the mansion is now available for £5 million.
The sprawling seven-bedroom, six-bathroom estate boasts an array of lavish amenities, including a leisure suite with a swimming pool, a home cinema, padel and tennis courts, and even a two-bedroom guest barn set on a generous 23-acre plot. The property is currently listed with Jackson-Stops and has garnered attention on Instagram through The Luxury Home Show, which showcased its stunning features.
While many have praised the home as “beautiful,” others have expressed mixed feelings about its decor. One viewer commented, “Lovely home, but what did they try to achieve by putting loads of stone around the house? It makes it look old-fashioned and shabby. Otherwise, beautiful property.” Another joked, “Clearly he didn’t like windows and natural light,” while a third added, “Looks like he needs my help with the interior design part.”
Since his departure from Manchester United, Ronaldo has upgraded his living situation, moving to the Saudi Pro League, which has attracted numerous global football stars. The Portuguese superstar, who will turn 40 early next year, owns luxury homes in various locations, including New York, Portugal, and Madrid, with his overall property portfolio estimated to exceed £80 million.
Earlier this year, Ronaldo reportedly purchased a new mega-mansion on Jumeirah Bay Island in Dubai, a lavish enclave known as Billionaire’s Island, which is home to numerous high-profile billionaires. Although exact figures vary, it is believed he spent tens of millions on the property. Which spans approximately 30,000 square meters and features six bedrooms, private beach access, a spa, a swimming pool, and a showroom for seven cars.
The island community offers upscale amenities, including fine-dining restaurants, a yacht club, and a beach resort, all while providing stunning views of the open sea and the iconic Burj Khalifa. Conveniently, a flight from Dubai to Riyadh, where Ronaldo’s club Al-Nassr is based, takes just two hours.
With such luxurious properties and a stellar football career, Ronaldo continues to make headlines both on and off the pitch.
