Real Madrid has suffered another setback with the news that French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has joined the club’s expanding injury list. Camavinga sustained a muscular injury to his left thigh during Wednesday’s 2-0 Champions League defeat to Liverpool at Anfield. The club confirmed the diagnosis as a muscular issue in the biceps femoris of his left leg and stated that they will closely monitor his recovery. However, Real Madrid did not provide a specific timeline for his return.
According to reports from Spain, Camavinga, who previously struggled with a knee injury in September, is expected to be sidelined for around two to three weeks. The 22-year-old had to leave the pitch in the 56th minute of the match due to the same injury that has kept teammate Vinicius Junior out of action for several weeks.
Injury concerns extend beyond Camavinga, with multiple players facing fitness issues following the defeat. Spanish media has reported that forward Kylian Mbappé, midfielder Jude Bellingham, and winger Brahim Diaz all finished the match with signs of discomfort. The medical team will conduct tests on the trio on Friday to determine the extent of their injuries.
With key players sidelined, Real Madrid faces a crucial period as they aim to navigate the challenges posed by these injuries.
