As the January transfer window approaches, Barcelona finds itself in a race against time to register two of its recent signings—Dani Olmo and Pau Victor—before the end of December.
The Catalan club faces mounting pressure, particularly in registering Olmo, whose arrival has created significant financial challenges. With the deadline fast approaching, Barcelona is working to officially add both players to their squad in time for the second half of the season.
Spanish journalist Santi Ovalle has reported that, despite ongoing efforts, Barcelona has not yet found a concrete solution for Olmo’s registration. The club is hoping for more clarity during an extraordinary general assembly set for December 21, where key financial decisions could potentially provide the breakthrough needed.
However, should no resolution be found, Barcelona is prepared to resort to familiar economic measures that have helped them navigate similar challenges in recent years. One of the options on the table involves utilizing a guarantee from the club’s board, a tactic previously used to register high-profile signings like Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix.
Barcelona is exploring another potential solution: selling VIP stand management rights, which could generate up to €200 million in revenue. However, this strategy may take longer to implement, as securing interested parties willing to invest in this proposal could prove difficult.
Olmo, who has impressed since his arrival from RB Leipzig, has been instrumental in Barcelona’s campaign, netting six goals in just 12 appearances. The club remains determined to ensure his registration, along with that of Pau Victor, to strengthen their squad moving forward.
