Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has sparked transfer rumors by admitting he’s open to a move to Saudi Arabia. The Belgian playmaker, still a vital cog at the Etihad, has just one year left on his contract.
Despite another stellar season with City, De Bruyne acknowledged the financial allure of a Saudi league switch. “At my age, you have to be open to everything,” he told HLN. “[Saudi Arabia] offers incredible money, something I haven’t earned in my entire 15-year career.”
While emphasizing his current focus on Manchester City, De Bruyne did hint at future discussions. “These are conversations we are increasingly having as a family,” he said, referring to his wife and son.
This revelation comes after reports of talks between De Bruyne’s representatives and 10 Saudi clubs. MLS side San Diego FC is also reportedly interested in acquiring the Belgian maestro.

De Bruyne’s potential departure would follow the footsteps of former teammates Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte, who joined Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia last year.
While Manchester City fans might be worried, De Bruyne’s comments suggest he’s keeping his options open. Whether he ultimately prioritizes finances or stays put to fight for more trophies with City remains to be seen. One thing’s for sure, the upcoming year holds a crucial decision for De Bruyne and his future on the pitch.
