Cristiano Ronaldo expressed gratitude to his former clubs, including Manchester United, after becoming the first player to be the top goalscorer in four different top-flight leagues.
The Portuguese superstar concluded the Saudi Pro League season with a remarkable 35 goals in 31 matches for Al-Nassr, making him the league’s top scorer. Ronaldo added Saudi Arabia to his list of countries where he has led the scoring charts, which also includes England, Spain, and Italy.
In the final match of the 2023/24 season, Ronaldo scored twice as Al-Nassr defeated Al-Ittihad 4-2. Despite his 50 goals across all competitions, Al-Nassr finished second, 14 points behind champions Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo celebrated his achievement on X, posting: “Proud to make history as the first top scorer in 4 countries. A huge thank you to all the clubs, teammates and staff who helped me along the way.” The post included a video highlighting his top-scoring seasons, starting with his 2007/08 campaign at Manchester United.
The video showcased his 31 goals in 34 matches for United, including memorable moments like his iconic free kick against Portsmouth. It then highlighted his tenure at Real Madrid, where he topped the La Liga scoring charts three times and won the European Golden Boot each season: 40 goals in 34 games (2011/12), 31 goals in 30 matches (2013/14), and 48 goals in 35 matches (2014/15).

Ronaldo continued his prolific form in Serie A with Juventus, scoring 29 goals in 33 games during the 2020/21 season. The video concluded with clips from his successful season at Al-Nassr.
With one year remaining on his contract in Riyadh, discussions are reportedly underway for a possible 12-month extension. Furthermore, any new deal for Ronaldo is expected to be closely tied to the renewal of television rights for the Saudi Pro League in 2025.
