Zimbabwe Women to Make Historic First Tour of Pakistan

Zimbabwe women’s national cricket team are set to tour Pakistan for the first time in history, with a six-match white-ball series scheduled from April 29 to May 15 in Karachi. All matches will be played at the National Bank Stadium.

The tour will include three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is). The ODI series, to be held on May 3, 6, and 9, will be part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025–2029. This competition is crucial for teams aiming to qualify for future global events. Zimbabwe recently made their debut in this championship against New Zealand but struggled, losing all three matches by big margins.

The T20I matches are scheduled for May 12, 14, and 15, and will mark the first-ever T20I meetings between the two sides. Overall, the teams have faced each other only once in international cricket before—during the 2021 World Cup Qualifier—where Pakistan secured a convincing 114-run victory.

Zimbabwe will be looking to bounce back after a difficult start to their international campaign, which included defeats in both ODI and T20I series against New Zealand. On the other hand, Pakistan have had mixed results in the ongoing Women’s Championship. They recently lost a closely contested ODI series 1-2 against South Africa and are currently placed fifth on the points table.

This historic tour presents an important opportunity for Zimbabwe to gain experience and improve their performance, while Pakistan will aim to capitalize on home conditions and strengthen their standing in the championship.
