Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be showcasing their commitment to environmental conservation by donning their iconic green kit as part of their annual ‘Go Green’ initiative. They will be wearing this special kit during their match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, April 21, at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

RCB’s ‘Go Green’ initiative, which began in 2011, aims to raise awareness about environmental sustainability. As part of this campaign, the team not only wears green kits but also presents a sapling to the opposition captain at the toss. Through this gesture, RCB pledges to plant trees and promote eco-friendly practices to protect the environment.
In 2021, RCB wore a sky blue kit in a game as a tribute to frontline workers for their invaluable contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite participating in this initiative for 13 years, RCB has secured victory only three times while wearing the green or blue kit. However, they remain hopeful that this tradition will bring them luck and change their fortunes in the upcoming match.
The match will see KKR, currently positioned 2nd on the points table with four wins in seven games, hosting RCB, who are seeking their second win of the season. The exciting encounter will take place at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, April 21, at 3:30 PM (IST).
