Alex Carey was the standout performer for Australia, anchoring the innings with a solid half-century. His contributions helped push Australia towards the 450-run mark. Jasprit Bumrah responded with a brilliant six-wicket haul to bring Australia’s innings to a close.

India’s reply was disastrous, with Yashasvi Jaiswal departing early for just 4 runs. The wickets kept falling, with Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli both dismissed cheaply. India found themselves at a perilous 22/3, prompting a rain delay. Once play resumed, Pat Cummins struck again, dismissing Rishabh Pant and leaving India in a dire situation.

Although India’s position is challenging, they will likely take solace in the rain delays, offering them a chance to regroup and reassess their strategy.

Looking ahead to Day 4, the weather forecast for Brisbane’s Gabba Cricket Ground, based on AccuWeather, predicts a difficult start to the day. There is a 100% chance of rain, with a significant 29% likelihood of thunderstorms. The area will be covered by thick clouds, with 88% cloud cover. The temperature is expected to be around 31°C, but the high humidity will make it feel like 37°C. Winds will be moderate, with speeds ranging from 15 to 32 km/h from the east-north-east. Given these conditions, interruptions due to rain and thunderstorms are likely.
