In a display of pure batting brilliance, Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) wreaked havoc on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowling attack during the ongoing Mumbai Indians (MI) vs RCB clash in IPL 2024. Yadav’s magnificent fifty, scored in a mere 17 deliveries, propelled MI towards a dominant position in their chase of 197 runs.
Suryakumar Takes Center Stage at No. 3

Batting at number three, the dynamic right-hander exhibited his full repertoire of strokes against the RCB bowlers. He reached his half-century at a lightning-fast pace, leaving the opposition spellbound. Suryakumar’s versatility was on full display as he targeted RCB’s ace speedster Reece Topley.
Topley Feels the Heat of SKY’s Batting Fury
Suryakumar unleashed his aggressive batting style against Topley, smashing him for a flurry of boundaries – three fours and a towering six – en route to his blistering fifty. The 13th over of the MI innings proved to be a nightmare for Topley. Suryakumar first dispatched a slow ball from Topley to the third man fence, followed by a monstrous six over backward point, showcasing his exceptional power-hitting ability.
A Flurry of Boundaries Seals the Fifty in Style
Topley’s misery continued as the next two deliveries also met a similar fate. Suryakumar collected two more boundaries off Topley, further bringing up his well-deserved fifty in style. This explosive knock put MI firmly in control of the chase, thus pushing RCB on the back foot.
A Temporary Setback, But Momentum Maintained
While Suryakumar departed shortly after reaching his milestone, caught by Rajat Patidar off the bowling of Vijaykumar Vyshak, his contribution had already caused significant damage to the RCB bowling attack. At the time of writing, MI were comfortably placed at 187/3 in 14.4 overs, with Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma steering the chase unbeaten. Suryakumar’s quickfire fifty has undoubtedly provided the impetus for MI to secure a convincing victory.
