In their pursuit of a challenging target of 201 runs set by the Gujarat Titans (GT), the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leaned heavily on an aggressive knock from skipper Faf du Plessis to kickstart their innings. While Virat Kohli, known for his aggressive batting displays in the IPL, faced some difficulties against pacer Azmatullah Omarzai, du Plessis took the initiative to up the run rate.

Du Plessis didn’t waste time against Omarzai in the second over. He showcased his power-hitting with a magnificent six launched over deep mid-wicket, followed by another powerful boundary over long-off. The over concluded with another display of his clean hitting, a ramp shot over fine leg for another boundary, fetching a total of 16 runs and easing the pressure on RCB’s chase.
RCB’s joy, however, quickly faded as GT’s spinner Sai Kishore dismissed the usually dominant Virat Kohli after his well-played 24 runs off just 12 balls. Despite Kohli’s early dismissal, GT deserves credit for posting a formidable total of 200/3, fueled by Sai Sudharsan’s brilliant 84 runs and a powerful cameo of 58 runs from Shahrukh Khan.
