[Watch] Arshdeep Singh strikes back by dismissing Mitchell Marsh after conceding a six

In a fiery start for the Punjab Kings (PBKS), their pace spearhead Arshdeep Singh delivered a crucial early breakthrough by dismissing the in-form Mitchell Marsh in the fourth over of the ongoing IPL 2024 match. Marsh, known for his aggressive batting, started with a bang, collecting all his 20 runs in boundaries – two fours and a whopping two sixes.

However, Arshdeep Singh had the upper hand, dismissing Marsh with a cleverly executed delivery. Marsh, looking to continue his onslaught, mistimed a full toss from Arshdeep, skying the ball straight into the waiting hands of Rahul Chahar stationed at point. The sharp catch by Chahar provided a much-needed breakthrough for Punjab Kings, halting Marsh’s destructive momentum.

Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan, Punjab Kings captain, opted to field first after winning the toss, aiming to utilize the initial conditions of the new pitch before it potentially eased up for batsmen later in the innings. While there was minimal swing on offer in the opening overs, the early dismissal of Marsh suggests it could still be a high-scoring match depending on how the pitch plays throughout the innings.
