Warwickshire Lose Final Group Game but Reach Edgbaston Semi-Final

In their final group match, Warwickshire was bowled out for 182 in 46.3 overs, with only Ed Barnard reaching 30. Nottinghamshire’s attack, led by Robert Lord (3 for 24) and Liam Patterson-White (3 for 26), proved too strong. Nottinghamshire’s reply, heavily affected by rain, ended at 135 for five after 28 overs, chasing a DLS target of 173 in 38 overs. A crucial unbroken stand of 73 between Jack Haynes and Tom Moores lifted Nottinghamshire from a precarious 62 for 5.

Warwickshire’s defeat dropped them to third in Group B, but they will host Worcestershire at Edgbaston since New Road is hosting England Lions vs. Sri Lanka on Friday. Nottinghamshire chose to bowl and took advantage of the absence of Rob Yates and Hamza Shaikh. As a result, no Warwickshire batter managed to last 50 balls. Consequently, Warwickshire struggled throughout their innings. However, late runs from Lintott and Ali provided some relief.

Chasing 183, Nottinghamshire faced early difficulties in drizzle. Rain delays adjusted the target, but Haynes and Moores guided Nottinghamshire to victory, with Haynes reaching a solid half-century before rain ended the game.
